This ancient stoic parable can transform your mental health. It’s the parable of the bowman. 


I’ve been thinking a lot about this particular parable recently. Life is stressful but we have to question “of what use is our stress?”.


When is our stress an asset to our productivity? Often it is a parasite of energy, creativity and mental wellbeing. However the issue is not our stress but what we have decided to stress about. 


The stoic parable of the bowman remedies this perfectly. The bowman is in control until the moment the arrow leaves his bow; so what does he/she choose to stress over?
