Us British… we live for the holidays. Many of us will work ourselves into a stupor of tiredness and anxiety for a few months purely motivated by that time in the sun. The issue is that because many of us aren’t getting that time in the sun, we aren’t taking time off at all and this is bad.
Working hard without rest can lead to burn out. This may manifest itself by eroding your weakest links. Ie if you already have anxiety, it may worsen. If you’re a poor sleeper, sleep deprivation may become exacerbated. Your habits/routine may also deteriorate, increasing the likelihood of consuming more junk food and alcohol. Take that break.
