Hey, what do you know about Dal?
I remember falling in love with Dal the first time I went round my friends houses at primary school. Later did I learn that it is amazing on a plant based diet.
Dal is very high in B Vitamins, fibre, protein (more protein per calorie than chicken at 18g protein at 230 calories)
But many people don’t know how to cook them. Luckily my friends mums showed me and I would like to show you 🙂
Fry:
1 tsp salt
1 tsp olive oil
1 onion
4 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
1 tbsp cumin
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp chilli flakes
Add:
1 cup of lentils
2 bay leaves
vegetable stock and cover well
Cook for 30mins on a low heat and it should look like a soup. So if it thickens too much, add water
