Use levers to boost your core strength

Ever wonder why leg raises are harder with straight legs or why it’s easier to do sit ups with your hands on your legs?

Because the further weight is from the fulcrum i.e. the belly button area, the more load is placed on the abdominal muscles. And the inverse is true.

This is what Myah is doing during her strength and conditioning session with Steve

Weight in her hands with her arms out straight increases the levers on the muscles that counter rotation.

Leg raises with straight legs, sit ups with arms straight behind your head, rotations with straight arms or straight legs etc all increase the load on the abdominal muscles
