FAQ’s

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment of injuries and pain. During your first visit with our osteopath will talk to you about your lifestyle, activities and any past injuries to enable him to find out exactly what is wrong. You will then be taken through a few movements to identify what may have led to your original injury.

Treatment will then be provided to reduce your pain and advice to empower your between appointments to progress towards your goals

We recommend that you bring a pair of shorts and a vest or sports bra to change into. This is to see if any other areas of your body might be related to your injury (i.e. if lower back pain is related to poor hip function). However, you are welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

The answer to this is Philosophy. We all treat the same complaints however the way we view the body is different. Traditionally, chiropractors conclude that all problems are due to the nervous system. Physiotherapists traditionally take a closer look at the injury itself. Osteopaths pride themselves on 1) taking a close look at the injury itself and then 2) putting this injury into the context of your body’s functionality (i.e. movement) and then 3) into the context of your lifestyle. This produces an individualistic and holistic approach to your complaint.

Treatment is tailored to you. There are some effective treatment methods like manipulation or massage that can cause a little discomfort but this does not mean we have to use them. We can use other, pain-free techniques like stretching and mobilisation that may take a little longer but are just as effective.

All prices for treatment can be seen at www.revitalizeclinic.co.uk/book-appointment

We pride ourselves on effectiveness, getting you pain-free ASAP, so costs are kept to a minimum. Consider how much you would pay to be pain-free? It is probably much more than you’ll end up spending at Revitalize.

Our fitness services range from £37.50 – £42 per appointment, dependant on services. But each package is tailored to the client. Please book a free consultation with our personal trainers via www.revitalizeclinic.co.uk/book-appointment

Yes, osteopathic treatment is available on the NHS, but expect a waiting list. Your private insurer may also cover you, so be sure to contact them. If you feel you need to book an appointment for treatment or want to visit to discuss your problem, we can normally see you within 1-3 days notice.

No, osteopaths are primary care practitioners. This means we are fully certified to treat you without you previously going to see your GP.

Of course. There is a small additional fee for visits in Gravesend, and a slight increase in price for surrounding areas. This is purely to account for time taken travelling.

Elliott, like most other osteopaths, studied for 4 years to gain an M.Ost (Masters in Osteopathy). Only those who have a degree level qualification, completed 1200 clinical hours and passed a series of demanding exams, can have the title of Osteopath. Osteopaths are examined on everything including in-depth anatomy, functional movement, pathological diseases and organ function.

Because we pride ourselves on patient care, continuous support between treatments and, above all, effectiveness. We implement the most effective and up-to-date methods to get your pain free, ASAP.

Personal Training

This is your time, so the simple answer is, wherever you like.

If you prefer to train in the comfort of your own home, that’s fine. If you would prefer getting outside in a park or another place of your choice, that’s great. And if you do decide that you’d like to get your hands on some weights, no problem, we have our personal private training studio.

We focus on three areas: Science, Motivation and Support. Firstly, we have a great library of knowledge to help us achieve your goals. This is taken from the current industry leaders, scientific research and trainer experience. Secondly, you probably know that it’s hard to feel up for training when you know you should.

We guarantee that our personal trainers will find a way to get you motivated. We haven’t failed a client yet. And finally, you’re supported throughout the process. You’ll receive regular texts or emails to ask how you’re doing and to make sure you’re keeping up with your programme.

This depends on your goal, so we have noted below the average rate of progression:

Weight-loss: 0.75 kg per week. This means a stone every 2 months. This is a healthy and stable weight-loss. If you lose it quicker than this, you tend to stall and yo-yo as you may have experienced.

Muscle Gain: This depends on your genetics and experience. If you pop in for a quick free consultation, we can assess your genetic potential.

Strength and Fitness: We aim to add 15-20 kg of weight per lift per month for beginners. If you are an advanced lifter, this may take longer. Fitness levels can improve at a much faster rate. Expect to see drastic changes every session.

Absolutely. You will be weighed and measured at least once a month and we will work to create a plan that is frictionless for you to follow. It will be an easy transition to achieve your goals.

Just give us a call on 01474 356 284 or email us to kick start your mission for health and fitness with a free consultation.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is based on anatomy. We assess and treat every individual muscle, rather than focusing on general relaxation as found in Swedish or remedial massage. We work on relaxing each muscle using manual stretching and massaging techniques.

When you feel stiff, achey and sore. This is when Sports Massage is most effective. However, if you are in pain or injured, we recommend an osteopathic treatment which will assess the injury in greater depth, serving as a more effective intervention.

Absolutely. Even stress or sitting at a desk all day can overload some muscles, causing headaches, neckaches, or just a horrible sore, stiff sensation. Sports Massage is effective for a variety of complaints

Some techniques may be uncomfortable, however, this is your treatment. Before your treatment commences, the therapist will ask your preferred intensity of massage and if there are any areas you would like focused on.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We ask patients to dress down to their underwear which can be shorts and a sports bra. Only a single area of your body is exposed at any time; the other areas are covered by a large towel. However, it is important that you feel comfortable and relaxed during your treatment so if you would prefer being treated in your clothes, just let the therapist know.

Yes, we have fully qualified Sports Masseuses, Ellie Bearman, Katie Avery, Charlotte Dowling and Charmaine Mensah who are available on request. Just request a female therapist when booking.
